Giro Tyrant MIPS - MTB HelmetThe Tyrant MIPS® helmet is designed to meet the needs of todays progressive trail riders. Equally at home on forest singletrack as it is at the dirt jumps, Tyrants attitude ushers in the modern era of mountain biking.
While the style is understated, the Tyrant boasts countless under-the-hood tech breakthroughs including Wind Tunnel Ventilation and MIPS Spherical technology. MIPS Spherical utilizes a pair of foam layers that work like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a crash. One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics to address low-speed, roll-around-in-the-dirt-type spills. The added coverage of this full cut design further enhances protective capability, while taking helmet design in a new direction for riders seeking style over speed.

Roc Loc Air
The revolutionary Roc Loc® Air Fit System has the same outstanding features as the Roc Loc® 5, but in addition to that, it dramatically increases airflow and ventilation inside the helmet. The unique design creates a small air cushion between the helmet shell and the head, so that the wind can flow and cool without disturbing the ride without sacrificing fit and comfort. A new level of fit, comfort and ventilation that can only come from Giro.
In-Mold Construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet's impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making in-mold helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.
The P. O. V. Plus Visor has an adjustment mechanism that allows the visor to be adjusted up and down in 3 steps. In addition, the visor can be pushed up so far that the goggle can be pushed onto the helmet during a break, for example. The adjustment is easy to make with one hand and while driving.
Wind Tunnel Ventilation
Giro's helmets are developed utilizing their proprietary Wind Tunnel ventilation system. This elaborate design combines active vents in the helmets shell with exhaust channels inside the helmet that thrust fresh, cool air over and around the riders head while forcing heat and stale air out. Its the most effective cooling system available, and a difference you can feel every time you ride.
All Giro helmets are designed to reduce as much energy as possible while meeting and exceeding stringent safety standards. The goal of Giros MIPS®-equipped helmets is to reduce rotational forces. Giro believes that helmets equipped with this technology can reduce the amount of rotational force that may be transferred to riders brain in certain impacts.
